| Introducing Hayley
Pearson ... |
|
 |
1.
Tell us your full name, where you live and what
you do …
My name is Hayley Pearson. I am 21 years old, I
have recently graduated from Roehampton University
and I am currently living with my family in Bromley.
| 2. |
a) if you
have a job – why do you do what you
do?
b) if you are studying – what do you
want to do when you finish? |
At the moment, I am working with The War Cry, the
Salvation Army’s evangelical newspaper.
3. What are you passionate
about?
I am passionate about being creative! My degree
is in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies with
Dance Studies, which is a bit of a mouthful. A lot
of people have been surprised that following university
I am not particularly eager to start working in
the theatre – I will never rule it out but
at the moment I feel more passionate about putting
pen to paper. 4.
Something that has made a major impact on your life
is …?
Performing. My conscious decision not to chase a
career in performing arts has prompted me to question
how dance and theatre are relevant to my life now.
I have thought a lot about why God has given me
a love of these things. I realise that dancing has
influenced my life in a big way – from how
I am able to worship God, to relationships I have
made, to the way that I perceive my body. Making
performance has taught me discipline, the value
of commitment, an appreciation of beauty, and that
sometimes rules are vital and sometimes they are
made to be broken. 5.
In less than 20 words, what is the meaning of life?
I’ll tell you when I’m dead. Really,
this is the wrong question – instead, ask,
‘How should I live my life?’
(Sorry, but this is one of my pet hates –
the question should read ‘fewer’ not
‘less’ - fewer in number, less in quantity!)
6. Why do you want to
write for us?
I want to continue to set myself new challenges.
Being a publicly exposed diarist is one of them. |
