The Salvation Army for a new generation
Diary - Hannah Lambert
Introducing Hannah Lambert...
1. Tell us your full name, where you live and what you do …

My name is Hannah Marie Lambert and I live in Bristol.

Without going in to too much detail I enjoy people (in general!! The variety and differences fascinate me!) reading, music (both playing and listening) and attending the Salvation Army. I thoroughly enjoy travelling too, especially to see my family in Canada and Denmark! My boyfriend is pretty great to hang out with and so are all my friends.

2. a) if you have a job – why do you do what you do?

b) if you are studying – what do you want to do when you finish?

a) I have two!!! A selfish one and a not so selfish one…

I work in Waterstones bookshop on Saturdays! To be quite honest I have this job for the money and to broaden the appeal of my CV! My other job is to clean my disabled uncle’s house once a week.

b)I am currently in my first year of 6th form. I study biology, R.E, English literature and history. After 6th form I would love to do some voluntary work abroad, perhaps with the army if they’ll have me! After that I intend to go to university and do a degree in midwifery!

3. What are you passionate about?

Lots of things…. It’s more what I’m not passionate about!!

Ummm… I guess to narrow it down I am most passionate about God, relationships with others, my family and eventually becoming a midwife!

4. Something that has made a major impact on your life is …?

Hmm…This is a tricky one. I’d probably have to say working in a drop in at the Salvation Army. You get to know a variety of people with different needs and personalities. Every single time you help out something different happens and not once have I walked away without being impacted in some way!

5. In less than 20 words, what is the meaning of life?

That’s much too much for me to answer after a history test on a Thursday afternoon! Sorry!

6. Why do you want to write for us?

I think it will be extremely fun… I wanted to be a journalist for a little while when my parents bought me a writing kit for me Christmas - I was about 9…. So I think this is the closest chance I will ever get. Plus, no-one ever usually listens to me so maybe if I write it down I might get noticed!!!
