The
Theme - Outside Out
Some people say we live in an ego centric
world, a world that spins around me.
My rights, my time, my personal space.
We all too easily think that our faith
follows on. My church, my spirituality,
my calling.
However true faith is never self centred.
It is not a private experience. Nor
is it limited to our religious life,
our church, corps, youth group or cell.
It is not a private members club! Faith
breaks free from such restraints and
transforms the world.
Jesus said ‘Blessed are the Peacemakers’.
Real faith cuts loose from personal
piety and dead religion in order to
heal and mend a broken creation. That's
why the people of faith comprise the
key part of God's plan for creation.
It is this insurgent community that
breaks the endless cycle of war and
aggression to establish a new alternative;
a kingdom defined by peace and well
being.
At this years Youth Rally we’ll
be looking at what it means to be a
peacemaker, both in our homes and churches,
but also outside on the streets, in
our schools, our clubs, in our communities.
We’ll have a look at the story
of the Good Samaritan, how did he make
peace?
As an archbishop once famously said,
"The church is the one society
who exists for its non-members."
Outside Out will provoke us to consider
how our faith impacts others and how
our church can transform its community.
If you're ready to join the peacemaking
revolution, we'll see you there!
