Family Tracing

Established in 1885, no other people finding agency in the UK reunites as many families - separated by so many years and countries - as The Salvation Army

Julie found her father John through The Salvation Army after they had been out of contact for 14 years

Ten people are reunited every working day thanks to our Family Tracing Service.

Restoring family relationships:
the best
present?

We may vow to strike family members off our Christmas card list, but family is important

Why people lose touch

What is it that makes people lose touch with family members? How can contact be re-established?

Bridging the gap: issues to rebuilding broken relationships
Since 1885 The Salvation Army has responded to family fragmentation in a practical way

How to make the first contact

A long letter, a quick email, a lengthy phonecall or a meeting in person... what's the best method?

Find one, get more free: The Salvation Army reunites 20,000 each year
Re-establishing contact with one family member can lead to finding a whole new family

 Our plea:
Do it now before it's too late

Although the Family Tracing Service has an 85% success rate, it's not always a happy ending
