Adult/Family Ministries

The mission of Adult and Family Ministries is introducing people to Jesus through developing a personal relationship with God and genuine relationships with others.

This is achieved through varied initiatives and existing ministries that seek to meet local needs.

For example, your local Salvation Army Corps (church) may hold a parent and toddler group, an over-60 club, ministry specific to women or men, craft and keep fit classes, parenting courses- the list is endless.

Enter your postcode in the 'Find a Centre' box on the left hand side of the screen to see what is happening at The Salvation Army in your area.

RESOURCES

Adult and Family Ministries' resources  range from material to conduct women's groups or over-60 clubs to training material for parent and toddler group leaders, from music for Babysong groups to daily devotions on CDs.

The Helping-Hand Appeal

Adult and Family Ministries groups, corps amd individuals from around the UK and Ireland raise funds in the region of £250,000 each year for the Helping-Hand Appeal.  The concept and ethos of the Helping-Hand Appeal is to look beyond our own boundaries and home needs to those less fortunate than ourselves and to assist in raising funds for significent projects overseas.  These projects are mainly in respect of rebuilding, rehabilitation, food production and the supply of essential equipment.  Often funds are required to meet the most basic of needs.

The Helping-Hand Appeal project for 2012 is called:

Growing Hope

There are 1 billion people in our world going hungry every day.
Another billion are under-nourished.
The majority of those going hungry are actually poor farmers.
