Making an application
First step Take time to read the Family Tracing FAQ and related pages before contacting us, to ensure your request falls within our tracing programme. Presenting your request If you live outside the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland, contact should be made with The Salvation Army in your own country of residence (details can be found on our International website at www.salvationarmy.org). This procedure applies even if the person sought is thought to be living in the United Kingdom. If you are a resident of the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, or live in a country where there is no Salvation Army representation, details of your request can be sent to this office. Your initial application can be made by letter, telephone, or by completing the online request for application form. To avoid duplication please refrain from presenting your request by more than one method. When contacting us it will be necessary for you to provide your full name, date of birth and residential address; also the full name, date of birth and relationship of the person sought, together with the reason you are out of touch. A comprehensive questionnaire A comprehensive questionnaire will be sent to be completed with details of the person sought. Once returned to this office full consideration will be given to your request. The registration fee must be included when submitting your completed questionnaire. If for any reason we are unable to commence a search, this will be returned.
