WELCOME

Welcome to The Salvation Army in Rutherglen. We are a welcoming fellowship of Christians of mixed ages and backgrounds,  striving to serve and worship God in the communities where we live - and obviously here in Rutherglen!

Why not come along and get to know us. Our Sunday morning Service is a great opportunity to meet us, as we gather in worship with God. The Service starts at 10.30 and runs for approximately one hour.

At Rutherglen, we seek to blend the best of both traditional and contemporary Christian music throughout our worship.  We are amply assisted in our worship by our Singing Group (Adult Choir), our Singing Company (Children's Choir) and our Senior Band. There too is always time given over to the young people of our fellowship with an appropriate  childrens message and song

Prayer is at the heart of what we do and if you have an issue you would like prayer for, please let one of our Corps Officers (Ministers), Major Stephen & Margaret know or speak with Elizabeth Ramsay (our Prayer Co-ordinator). Prayer is included in our Morning Worship services, however on the first Sunday of every month, an extended prayer-time is held either during or at the end of the Meeting. Prayer Request Slips are made available for this; alternatively you can complete one of these slips and place it on our Prayer noticeboard in the Foyer.

Occupying a modern building, we are a completely accessible church. Within you will find ample toilets facilities including a disabled toilet, plus a clear Loop System within our Main Hall for those with hearing disabilities. If you have any other special requirements, please let us know - we'd love to see you.

  How to find us

The Hall is situated in King Street , Rutherglen (corner King Street / Castle Street). King Street runs parellel with Main Street, Rutherglen (to the rear of the Town Hall & Library buildings). For drivers using the one-way system, approach from the Farmeloan Road of King Street travel approximately half way down and look for our building on the right. We have our own small car park; additional free parking (on and off street) can be found in King Street both before and after our Hall.

The nearest railway station is Rutherglen, on the SPT Rail (Glasgow to Hamilton, Motherwell & Lanark lines). It's about a 3 minute walk from the station to the Hall.

Bus travel to and from Rutherglen is very convenient, with many buses passing nearby. Click for First Bus Map or First Bus General Information
