We take good quality second-hand furniture, such as beds, mattresses and sofas/suites (provided these have the necessary fire certificates attached), desks, wardrobes, etc., and some electrical items. We have in stock an electric adjusting bed, particularly useful for disabled or physically handicapped people.
A small fee is charged if furniture has to be delivered after purchase. We only operate furniture delivery or pick up on certain days. Please contact the shop manager to arrange furniture drop off or pick up.
Volunteers are always welcome. Please contact the shop manager.
1 Year Anniversary

Shop Manager David Walter (left) and volunteer Adam Vertigan tucked
into some birthday cake this week to celebrate the one year anniversary
of the opening of our second hand Furniture Shop. The shop, in Holt
Road, Fakenham, has increased its opening hours from 4 to 5 days
(Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30am - 4.30pm).
Shop Manager David Walter said 'The shop has increased its profile
over the year through advertising in the local Post Office, Fakenham
cinema and by leaflet drops carried out by volunteers. We have
maintained our volunteer base, including three teenagers like Adam who
have come through Fakenham College encouraging its sixth formers to
undertake community projects. All three teenagers still volunteer with
us, and have been a great help to us. We have also been very successful
in utilising people on community service from the Probation Service.
One other volunteer, who lived in a hostel in Fakenham, has gone on to
full time employment, so we are making a valuable contribution to the
lives of people from Fakenham. We are also fulfilling our objective of
supplying local people with low cost furniture.'
Captain Margot Walford said ' We have had a number of requests from
local social service providers to help low income families and we've
done our best to provide for them where we can. We always ask for a
donation when we do this, especially if delivery is involved, as rising
fuel costs are adding to our expenses. We're pleased with the
re-cycling of furniture that we've been able to do so far, but we'd
like to see it increase. We are very grateful to those who have donated
their furniture to us - there is obviously a need.
