Mobile Phone Recycling
Each year, around 100 million mobile phones are thrown away in Europe. Many of these end up in landfil sites, but many of the materials and components are not bio-degradable.
A far better option is to recycle your phone. Your phone can be refurbished, or broken up for spare parts. Glenrothes Corps of The Salvation Army is currently gathering mobile phones for recycling. The recycling scheme benefits the environment as well as providing financial support for our work in Glenrothes and the surrounding areas. If you have an old mobile telephone sitting around the house, please donate it! Only phones that still have their battery and can be powered-on are accepted by our recycling partner, but any age of phone is acceptable. The phone charger is not a requirement, but if included it may also be safely recycled. Phones can be sent to the corps address, or dropped off in person.
